[ 01 ]The service

UserTapes provides cookieless session replay: a snippet you install on your website records visitor sessions, which you can watch, search, share, and query — including via AI agents — from your dashboard. These terms are an agreement between you (the account holder) and UserTapes.

[ 02 ]Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, the security of your credentials, and all activity under your account — including your secret MCP token, which grants read access to your recordings and should be treated like a password. You must be at least 16 and authorized to accept these terms for the organization whose sites you record.

[ 03 ]Recording responsibly

You may only install the snippet on websites you own or are authorized to instrument. You agree to:

• disclose your use of session replay in your website's privacy policy, and obtain any consent your jurisdiction requires;
• not use UserTapes to record pages whose primary content is regulated sensitive data (for example medical records or full payment flows) unless you have verified the built-in masking is sufficient for your obligations;
• not attempt to circumvent input masking or to re-identify individual visitors.

You are the data controller for your recordings; our processing of them is governed by the privacy policy and, where executed, a DPA.

[ 04 ]Acceptable use

No unlawful use, no attempting to breach or probe the service's security, no reselling the service without agreement, no submitting recordings from sites you don't control, and no use that imposes unreasonable load designed to degrade the service for others. Plan limits (sites, retention, monthly sessions, agent questions) are enforced technically and are part of these terms.

[ 05 ]Plans and billing

Free and trial accounts are provided as-is and may have limits changed with notice. When paid plans launch: fees are billed in advance, monthly or annually; you can cancel any time, effective at the end of the billing period; if a price rises, existing subscribers keep their price for as long as their subscription remains active.

[ 06 ]Your data, our software

Your recordings are yours. You grant us the license needed to store, process, and display them to you — nothing more. The UserTapes software, design, and brand are ours. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product without obligation.

[ 07 ]Service changes and termination

We may improve or modify the service, and will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce it. You can delete your account at any time, which permanently removes your data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable. On termination we delete your recordings within 30 days.

[ 08 ]Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Session capture is best-effort by nature — ad blockers, network conditions, and browser behavior mean no recording tool captures every session, and we do not warrant completeness of any recording. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

[ 09 ]General

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced to account owners by email before taking effect, and continued use constitutes acceptance. Questions: support@usertapes.com.
